Digging deep into learning and life skills
MTL Nursery Vocational Program teaches vocational landscaping and plant nursery skills to high school students.
Our Mission is to empower at-risk teens by providing hands-on training in landscape maintenance, landscape construction, and nursery work, while addressing the unmet needs many of them face due to generational poverty and adverse childhood experiences. By offering mentorship and support, we aim to help these young people move beyond simply reacting to crises, guiding them to take control of their futures, plan ahead, and create their own opportunities for success and personal growth.

Experience is the best teacher
We envision a future where at-risk teens in Douglas County gain the confidence, skills, and support to break free from cycles of poverty and adversity. Through meaningful work in landscape maintenance, construction, and nursery cultivation, they will grow into empowered young adults who take control of their lives, make achievable plans for their futures, and contribute positively to their communities
Working alongside the future to better the future.
Community involvement is key to this program. Building professional relationships, and receiving feedback from our local community members will help propel this program into areas where we can do the most good.
This program’s goal is to give students an edge to go out in the world, and have the skills to help them succeed.
